You will be charged $50 for the class, plus an additional $20 that you will receive back in the form of a gift certificate to buy the ammo you'll need for the class.

Due to safety/insurance reasons related to past issues with people using improperly reloaded ammo, all ammo used on our range must be purchased here.
So, no, you may not bring your own ammo.

Please bring/buy/rent enough magazines to pre-load 40 rounds of ammo as this drastically speeds up range time. Mountainside Outfitters keeps most magazine options in stock at great prices. This does not apply to revolvers.

Please bring/buy/rent a holster so everyone has somewhere safe to store their weapon when not actively shooting. Outside the waistband is preferred. Mountainside Outfitters has a large variety in stock at great prices.

Located in Fordland, MO, just 20 minutes east of Springfield, MO, on Route 60, at U Hwy.

You don't need to know anything about guns to take this class.

There is no need to be worried, embarrassed, or anxious about taking this class or the practice shooting.

This will be a very comfortable experience no matter how much or little knowledge or experience you have.

There is nothing our team of firearms experts haven't already seen or questions they haven't heard.

Our trainers will make sure you are comfortable & safe with your firearm before you leave.

So quit putting it off, get registered & let's keep you & your family safe.

You may bring your own weapon, or you can rent one for $10.

You may bring your own eye & ear protection, or you can buy them here.

Don't bring the biggest gun you can find to show off, bring the gun you are most likely to carry in real life so you can be taught to practice using it correctly, accurately & safely.

Although it's true that you don't need a permit to carry in MO, the reason to get your permit, beyond the obvious safety benefits of taking the class, is because it allows you to carry your weapon in the 36 other states that honor MO's permits.

This class is both indoor classroom work & outdoor shooting. Please dress appropriately.

We will break for lunch.
Mountainside has Jerky, chips & other snack foods for sale or you can bring a lunch.

At the end of this class, you will receive the certificate you'll need to get your permit.
You will not receive a concealed carry permit at this class.
You will still need to take this certificate to your home county's Sheriff's Dept. to get your actual permit.

Please share this with the people in your life that have always talked about getting their permit, but never have.
